Everyday Drugstore Favorites

Drugstores can be amazing for getting quality beauty products on a budget but can also be so overwhelming. At such cheap price points I often wonder about the quality of the products. Today I'm going to share my tried and true drugstore favorites to create an everyday makeup look.

First is the Covergirl Outlast Stay Flawless 3 in 1 foundation. It is a foundation, concealer and primer all in one. Cover girl is definitely not my usual go to for foundations but this one really lives up to it's name. I put it on in the morning with a brush and it really does last all day. Highly recommend.

Next, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot concealer. This concealer is a bit different than most because it features a sponge applicator that product flows out of. I find this so handy on rushed mornings because I don't have to use a brush, just the applicator and my finger to blend it. The actual formula is fantastic and does a great job of covering dark circles and adding a bit of a highlight.

To set everything, I use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder. It keeps me matte without adding any extra coverage or cakey-ness. This is a great behind the scenes product that helps to keep your makeup in place all day! (Mine fell on the ground yesterday and shattered, darn!)

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny is the only bronzer from the drugstore that I've tried and loved. I think this is mainly because it is matte and it is not incredibly dark. Its the perfect color for any lighter skinned girl wanting to add a little warmth.

For blush, I chose this ELF studio blush in Pink Passion. Although in the pan it looks shockingly bright, it looks so natural blended out on the cheek. These blushes are so inexpensive at $3 each and they can be found at Target.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana is in fact not a bronzer at all, but a subtle highlight with a bit of sheen. Rather than a bright white, shimmery highlight this looks so much more natural and less obvious. After mattifying everything with a setting powder, a little of  this on the tops of your cheekbones  helps to bring your face back to life.

For eyeshadow, I've chosen my holy grail, Maybelline Color Tattoo. This is one of the new leather colors in Creamy Beige. Rather than my other favorite, Bad To the Bronze which is quite shimmery, this is matte. It stays on your eyes all day without creasing and gives you a natural looking eye with only one product. I would recommend Color Tattoos to anyone!

For eyeliner, I prefer a dark brown and this one from NYX is lovely. I like that this liner is retractable and also waterproof. Most things from NYX are really great, I would recommend most of the line.

I am very picky with my mascara and this one has been a favorite for quite a while. I normally stay away from waterproof because it is so hard to remove but this one is not so bad. It has a plastic brush that has some longer bristles on one side to flare out the outer lashes. It really separates the lashes nicely and stays put all day. I first tried this out when it came in a Target Beauty Box and I'm so glad I did!

Having red hair, I find it difficult to find a brow color that looks believable but this one happens to work perfectly. It is the Covergirl Brow & Eye Makers pencil in Soft Brown. The fact that it is a pencil helps to hold my brows in place while also precisely filling in some sparcer areas. If you don't fill in your brows, give it a shot and you will notice an instant change in your entire face!

Last but not least, this is my current favorite everyday drugstore lip color. Another NYX product, the butter gloss in Apple Strudel is so subtle but adds just the right amount of color. It's a nice choice for a subdued daytime look, great for work or the weekend. Not only is the color pretty but it also smells so yummy!

Do you have any favorite drugstore products? I'm always looking for more affordable yet quality makeup products!

  1. Definitely try Urban Decay Cosmetics eyeshadow primer. It's not from the drugstore, but I love, love, love it! You can make any eyeshadow stay on all day and night if you're planning on going out after. It's a little pricey but totally worth it as it lasts forever. That's definitely a staple in my makeup bag and daily routine!! ;)
